PARISH MINISTRIES

        Eucharistic Ministers assist the priest in giving the consecrated hosts and wine to the communicants during Mass.  For more information about the Eucharist and our faith, look at the Parish Mission page.  If you would like to serve as a Eucharistic Minister, please contact Peggy Schwallie at (360) 879-5579, or Deacon Gene Miller at (360) 893-8844, and any information needed will be given to you. 

        The Ministry of Lector is an important and rewarding service for our worshiping community.  Newcomers who feel they are called to this service and who are skilled in proclaiming the Word Of God are always welcome.   Please contact Leona Schrum at (360) 893-2453 or Deacon Gene Miller at (360) 893-8844 if you are interested.

        Besides being responsible for the Sunday Collections, ushers play an important role in the progression of the Mass. They assist the Eucharistic Ministers as well as coordinate the Eucharistic procession. They also help in Church social functions such as the Parish Breakfast. 

Boys or girls in the fourth grade or older are invited to train. If your son or daughter is interested in becoming an Altar Server, please contact Deacon Gene Miller at (360) 893-8844.

        We have several social functions at Saints Cosmas and Damian such as pot lucks, Lenton soup suppers, annual breakfast and picnic, receptions and family nights. This is a wonderful way to meet and get to know others.  

        We also have a coffee hour after each Mass. We serve coffee, juice and pastry.  If you would like to help, please contact Bernice Miller at (360) 893-8844.

Liturgy of the Word for Children

This Archdiocesan ministry is offered each year for children pre-Kindergarten through 5th grade.  Children meet each week for the first half of Mass from October to May.  Sacramental preparation for Penance and Eucharist are offered yearly.  For information, please contact Anne Clinton at (253) 845-0083.

        This Archdiocesan ministry is offered to youth grades 6 through 12. It offers youth activities combined with faith development. For more information, please contact Youth Group Member Grace Hansen.

        Saints Cosmas and Damian is blessed with a wonderful choir.  There are 16 members led by Vida Drew, our Choir Director. New members are always welcome.  Talent is not required, only a desire to praise the Lord through music.

        The choir's prayer is that, each parishioner's faith and worship will be enriched through the liturgy of the music.  If you have a favorite hymn, give your request to the choir, and your hymn will be incorporated into the liturgy when appropriate.

        This is a Eucharistic Ministry to serve those who are not able to attend Mass.  It is a wonderful opportunity to care for others who are sick or disabled permanently or temporarily.  If you would like to bring the Love Of Christ to the homebound please contact Deacon Gene or Bernice Miller at (3600 893-8844.

        This is a Eucharistic Ministry to the home which is only a few miles from our parish. There are several parishioners that live there and are unable to attend Mass. As you bring them the blessing of Christ you will receive a greater blessing from them. If you are interested, please contact Peter Zelenkov at (253) 846-0191.
